Welcome to the Family, Duramax Turbo-Diesel
Here’s a quick recap on what the Colorado has accomplished in the last year or so. First, it announced its return to the lineup after a short hiatus, which caused considerable stress for competitors such as Nissan and Toyota. Once it was released, it turned the entire segment on its ear, becoming the fastest-growing midsize pickup of last year and winning the 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award. And now, with the release of the 2016 Chevy Colorado in Richmond KY upon us at Jack Burford Chevy, it looks to follow up on its sterling 2015 performance by separating itself from the competition even further. New technology, new powertrain options, new trim levels -- there is very little that the Colorado hasn’t added to its overall package to improve upon its 2015 showing.
Of course, we’re burying the lede a little here, since it's the aforementioned powertrain option that has dominated much of the press in the early going for the 2016 Chevy Colorado. The Colorado delivers an all-new 2.8L Duramax Turbo-Diesel, making this the first midsize pickup to offer a diesel option. The power and efficiency of the Duramax are already garnering a fair share of notoriety: 181 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. This joins the already-available 2.5L inline-4 delivering 27 highway mpg and the 3.6L V6 offering 26 highway mpg and a 7,000-pound towing capacity. Looking across the three engines offered by the 2016 Chevy Colorado makes one thing abundantly clear: competitors had better come with their best for the new model year, since the Colorado won’t flinch for anything less.View Inventory
Terrific Tech meets Effortless Design
The interior of the 2016 Chevy Colorado has long been among the midsize pickup segment’s unsung heroes, which is understandable considering the amazing performance and exterior design also vying for praise. However, that isn’t to say that the interior is at all lacking. The latest Colorado edition offers a customizable Chevy MyLink interface that is equipped with Pandora streaming radio and allows users to make phone calls and select radio stations using hands-free commands. Additionally, the Colorado offers available 4G LTE WiFi access, allowing up to seven smart devices to connect to a dedicated internet source all at once. Factor in the terrific design of the interior -- the clean lines, ease of use and generous cabin space -- and it’s apparent that the Colorado’s interior is unlike those of any competing midsize model.
Also added to the Colorado’s offerings for 2016 are two great special edition packages, the Midnight Edition and Z71 Trail Boss Edition. Those who opt for the Midnight Edition will enjoy blacked-out style throughout: black 18-inch wheels, black Chevrolet badging and an all-black grille, to name just a few of the features added. On the other hand, the Z71 Trail Boss adds substance as well as style: Z71 suspension with Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac All-Terrain tires, black Chevy badging and wheels, and a sport bar with LED trail lighting. In either case, drivers will enjoy an added measure of attitude to the existing Colorado models.
