In 1999, GM introduced the first-generation Trailblazer under the title of TrailBlazer as a trim level for the Blazer SUV. It discontinued this generation in 2008. With the second generation, GM removed the capital B and renamed this SUV the Trailblazer in 2011.
Today, the Chevrolet Trailblazer, now in its third generation, has a similar appearance to its larger cousin, the Blazer, but it’s not mechanically related to the Blazer. The Trailblazer rides on a GM VSS-F platform and comes with optional all-wheel drive. New features include a larger infotainment system, push-button start, and redesigned exterior features.
