How to Program a Chevy Key Fob

Chevy Key Fob

For drivers in Richmond, there are many owner benefits when purchasing a new Chevrolet. Advanced technology, creative design, and innovative enhancements come together to create a driving experience that’s hard to match. One of the impressive features of the new lineup is the ingenious Chevy key fob.

Chevy Key Fob Programming

To enjoy your drive around Irvine, it’s necessary to regularly service your vehicle after learning how to program your Chevy key fob. Fortunately, the process is easy:

  1. Instead of using the button on the key fob, manually unlock the door on the driver’s side.
  2. After entering your Chevy, confirm all doors are closed properly.
  3. While pressing the unlock button on your key fob and holding down the unlock button on the driver’s side door, insert the key fob into the ignition.
  4. Turn the car key to the “On” position, but don’t start your car. This will turn on the lights and radio, but won’t turn over your engine.
  5. Still pressing the unlock button on the door, turn your key to the “Off” position. Then, turn it on (again, without starting the car), then turn it off. So, you will quickly turn your car on, then off, on, then off all while holding the unlock button and not starting your vehicle.
  6. Take the key fob out of the ignition.
  7. Release the unlock button on the driver’s side door.
  8. When you release the unlock button, you’ll hear the vehicle lock and unlock. This is your indication that you can begin programming your Chevy Malibu key fob, Chevy Silverado key fob or the one for your specific car, truck, or SUV.
  9. Now press both the “Lock” and “Unlock” buttons on the key fob at the same time and hold them until you hear the doors lock and unlock again. This means you have programmed your key fob.
  10. Insert the programmed key fob into the ignition turning it to “On”. This will end the programming.

Congratulations! You just programmed your Chevy remote start key fob. We can help you program garage door opener, too.
