How to Replace Windshield Wiper Blades: Step-by-Step

You can get a great deal on a new set (or two) when you take advantage of our service and parts specials—whether you plan to visit our service center or are wondering how to change windshield wiper blades at home in Winchester or London.

Follow these steps for how to replace windshield wiper blades:

  1. Move your windshield wipers to their upright position.
  2. Carefully pull the wiper blades away from the windshield.
  3. Check your owner’s manual or the new wiper packaging to learn how to remove the old wiper blades.
  4. Remove and discard the old wiper blades.
  5. You’ll want to prevent dust and debris from getting embedded in the new blades, so now is a good time to thoroughly wash your windshield.
  6. Follow the installation instructions on the new wiper blade package.
  7. Repeat steps 4 through 6 for the other wiper blade.
  8. Finally, return your windshield wipers back to their regular position.

How to Replace a Rear Windshield Wiper

Replacing rear windshield wipers works pretty much the same way as it does for front windshield wipers. Your owner’s manual should detail how to replace rear windshield wipers, as well as how to remove the old blades. After removing the old wipers, follow the installation instructions on the replacement wiper blade package.
